Name: Sabre
Age: 5
Gender: Stallion
Breed: Tennessee Walking Horse
Alliance: Light
Height: 17hh
Markings: Sabre is a tobaino skewbald, so brown splashes (see appearance)
Loves: He loves the idea of a simple, easy life, the sound of birds calling, delicious lush grass, the beauty of waterfalls, the approval of others, when his view of justice is observed, etcetera.
Hates: Sabre hates that some lights are against fighting, dark horses, the idea that he is supercilious or belittling, the enclosed sensation and darkness of caves, etcetera.
Good points: He is physically in good shape and attractive. Sabre is well spoken and knows how to gain a mare’s approval.
Bad points: Sabre is, though he tries not to be, a bit arrogant and condescending. His character is perhaps a bit weak. He finds it hard to bond with others. In many ways, the way he behaves is almost an act, though he won’t admit it to himself.
Appearance: Sabre’s conformation is quite typical of the Tennessee Walking Horse. He has a shapely head with petite and wellset ears, an oblique wither and sloping back. He has a long underbelly, which allows for the gait so characteristic of his breed. His extensive limbs give him extra height, allowing him to stand at a towering 17hh. These legs are also well defined. He has a somewhat long, silky and flowing mane and tail. Sabre has deep, chocolate eyes. He is a piebald, for the most part, his body is white. However, he is splashed with a brown a couple of hues lighter than his eyes; some of this auburn colour streaks his rump and hindquarters in irregular puddles, and his hind legs have short socks. It is as if paint has been splashed at random over his back and flanks. His chest and the front of his neck is mainly brown, with a couple of unsystematic pallid areas. His head is coloured as if it is has been painted with preciseness and care; mainly, it is brown. He has a white blaze, from his muzzle to an inch or so from his ears. To either side, the white streaks across above his eye, stopping about half way along his eyes. The white then slopes up to point vaguely towards his forelock, ears an inch or so up. Sabre’s forelock is the only part of his mane which is not ashen, instead the same brown surrounding it, and his tail is streaked at random with white and coffee. Overall, he is often considered quite a handsome stallion.
Personality: Sabre is an interesting character. He is light, but of course there are flaws in his persona. No one can be perfect, can they? He wants a simple life. He is always polite, noble and well spoken, presenting himself as a respectable stallion. He always tries to do the right thing; he does his best to help everyone out, whoever they might be and whatever they might be. However, he is a bit arrogant, a trait passed down from his mother. He likes to think he is not at all conceited or egoistical; it’s something that he has always been against. However, he had been raised that way, and can’t help being a bit haughty. Sabre hides it from himself. When he does feel he is superior over another, then he may speak to them patronizingly, while he won’t mean it. Sabre is uncomfortable with opening up much to others. He doesn’t have many secrets but those he does have he won’t give away freely. It’s almost like he superficially acts friendly and open, however he tends to close his true self up. Of course, he can bond and love, he just struggles to get that far. Generally, he has one or two true friends and a group of other horses he is friendly towards but not willing to tell all. He will jump to help others, but this is just as much because he wants to be kind as he is. Sabre is very protective too, maybe overly possessive. He will defend what’s his in a moment. He does feel hate, and unlike a lot of lights doesn’t think that those who have done wrong always deserve a second chance; he is aggressive and hostile towards darks and doesn’t trust them at all. Sabre has nothing against fighting; he will leap into a fight without a moment’s hesitation if he feels it is necessary. For example, he will fight for land and mares, and just if someone pisses him off. Understand that despite these traits, Sabre is a light at heart, just secretly arrogant and perhaps slightly unstable and not the stereotype light.
History: There is nothing that extraordinary in Sabre’s past. He was born to a well-off herd, with his dam a respected member of the group. She was a bit a haughty, with a patronising undertone when speaking to those she considered below her. She taught him to act the same; superficially noble and polite. She forbade him from socialising to those less highly regarded than themselves. The mare was definitely no dark, just picky about friends and arrogant; that didn’t make her terrible. Still, Sabre understood and disapproved of the way his mother behaved, and promised not to act or think that way himself when he was older; however, it was a habit that was never completely erased. He left with a bachelor herd at two, like most horses. At three he gathered himself a group of mares and a small territory. Nothing out of the ordinary happened for the next year or two of his life; he fought for mares, gaining and losing them, he grazed, sired several foals. When Sabre was nearly five, he lost his mares and territory in a fight. Disgruntled and unhappy that he had lost his simple life, he entered Unknown seeking a new one.
Yukky, that’s a terrible app. Blame the flu! xD
